- Hookworm
- Tapeworm
Interceptor™ Spectrum not only safeguards against heartworm in dogs and puppies as young as 2 weeks of age, but it also prevents infestations of intestinal worms, including roundworm, whipworm, and hookworm. Notably, Interceptor™ Spectrum also protects against Hydatid tapeworm, which can be harmful to humans.
Many find administering tablets to dogs challenging. However, Interceptor™ Spectrum provides a tasty chew made with genuine chicken that dogs adore. Remarkably, 94% of dogs favor the taste of Interceptor so much that they will readily eat it straight from your hand.*
Important Safety Information
- Interceptor™ Spectrum Tasty Chews can be used safely in puppies from 2 weeks of age, breeding males and females, pregnant and lactating females, and in Collies sensitive to ivermectin.
- For dogs with adult heartworm infections and circulating microfilariae, giving Interceptor™ Spectrum Tasty Chews can induce a transient shock-like reaction. Before administering Interceptor™ Spectrum Tasty Chews, test dogs for adult heartworm and treat if required.
- Studies confirm the safety of up to 10 times the recommended dose.
Active Ingredients
Interceptor™ Spectrum Tasty Chews' active ingredients consist of milbemycin oxime and praziquantel.
- Milbemycin oxime disrupts nerve transmission in invertebrates, aiding in the protection against heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, and whipworm (minimum dose rate: 0.5mg/kg).
- Praziquantel induces muscle spasms in tapeworms, which are subsequently attacked by enzymes and disintegrate (minimum dose rate: 5mg/kg). It is effective against both flea and hydatid tapeworms.
Directions For Use
- Interceptor™ Spectrum can be mixed into a small meal or placed directly in the mouth, akin to tablet dosing.
- Administer the dosage once a month, preferably on the same date.
- If a dose is overdue by less than 15 days, treat immediately and continue with monthly dosing.
- If a dose is missed by 15-30 days, maintaining heartworm prevention is possible if treated promptly and monthly dosing continues for at least the subsequent 2 months.
- If a dose is missed by more than 60 days, consult a veterinarian regarding potential heartworm contraction. Resume dosing and after 6 months, conduct a blood test for adult heartworm.

Interceptor spectrum
This is a great product. I add the chew to my Welsh terrier' food and he eats it without a problem.
