Revolution Plus for Cats is designed to prevent heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis. It effectively kills adult fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and provides a treatment against flea infestations, tick infestations, ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations, and also treats and controls roundworm (Toxocara cati) and intestinal hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) infections. This treatment is suitable for cats and kittens aged 8 weeks and above, weighing a minimum of 1.25 kg (2.8 pounds).

How does Revolution Plus work?

Revolution Plus combines two potent ingredients: selamectin and sarolaner. Once applied, these ingredients penetrate the skin and circulate in the bloodstream. The combined action begins killing fleas within 6 hours and starts targeting ticks within 24 hours. Additionally, it impedes heartworm development and also addresses ear mites and various worms.

Flea Treatment and Prevention

Start REVOLUTION PLUS treatment anytime during the year for flea prevention and infestation treatment. Administer it monthly or initiate a month before fleas become active. For already flea-infested cats, the first dose eliminates the adult fleas and prevents egg-laying. However, environmental infestations might persist briefly after starting REVOLUTION PLUS due to pre-existing flea eggs maturing into adults.

Tick Treatment and Control

Begin REVOLUTION PLUS treatment anytime for protection against ticks like Ixodes scapularis, Amblyomma maculatum, and Dermacentor variabilis. Administer it monthly or start a month before tick activity heightens.

Heartworm Prevention

Administer REVOLUTION PLUS monthly for heartworm disease prevention. Start a month post the cat's initial mosquito exposure and continue until a month after the mosquito season concludes. If a dose is missed and the interval exceeds a month, immediate application and a return to monthly dosing reduces the chance of adult heartworm development.

Regular administration of REVOLUTION PLUS effectively hinders the maturation of heartworms, ensuring the prevention of the disease. Testing is advisable for cats with an uncertain heartworm history 3-4 months post the initiation of REVOLUTION PLUS. Cats older than 6 months should be tested for existing heartworm infections before beginning the treatment.

Ear Mite Treatment and Control

Apply REVOLUTION PLUS topically once for ear mite treatment. Do not apply within the ear canal. Monthly applications control subsequent infestations. Cleansing infested ears to remove debris is advised.

Nematode Treatment and Control

For roundworm and intestinal hookworm treatment, apply REVOLUTION PLUS as a one-time topical dose. Monthly applications prevent further infections.
